Review: Sephora Sun Safety Kit and How to apply sunscreen with make-up

So by now I think it's obvious what a stickler for sun protection I am.  Because my friends are coming for a visit this weekend that will consist of a ton of beach time, I've been particularly concerned lately.  I'm not loyal to any sunscreen products, as I don't believe I've found my "Holy Grails" quite yet.  It's hard to find something that doesn't make my face break out or give me a weird white cast in photos.  The only sunscreen product I buy regularly are the spray kinds, but that's because I'm lazy and even there, I'm still not loyal to any particular brand.

Luckily, every year Sephora puts out a Sun Safety kit that includes a ridiculous amount of sunscreen-filled products to play with.  I've missed it in the past, but this was finally my year!  This set is literally filled to the brim with anything you could possibly want for in terms of SPF.  Right now it's sold out online but a little birdie told me that most physical stores still have this set in stock.

- 0.34 oz Vita Liberata Passion Flower & Argan Dry Oil Broad Spectrum SPF 50
- Travel bag (And it's really cute!)

My favorite sunscreen?  Glad you asked!  It's definitely the Supergoop!  I love that it has the benefits of a serum to go along with sun protection.  It absorbs so quickly and doesn't feel like I have a layer of something caked onto my face.  At $42, I was debating purchasing the full size but reviews say it lasts forever so I'm going to have to give it a shot!  (Bonus and TMI- I get really oily skin in the summer and this helped cut that down tremendously.)

And now the big question... In what order do I apply sunscreen to my face to fit in with my daily routine?

Alright, I'm going to assume everyone here is using chemical sunscreens, aka, the typical sunscreens we buy.  (Zinc and titanium based sunscreens are physical sunscreens and not as common.  Always read the label to know what you're putting on your face!  But because they use a physical barrier, physical sunscreens should always be put on last in your routine for the best protection.)
Your sunscreen needs time to sink into the skin to give the full protection that it needs.  Wash your face, let it dry fully, then apply sunscreen.  Wait about a minute or so to sink in, and then moisturize and follow-up with your make-up!  Easy peasy.  Just remember that sunscreen comes first!

Sunscreen then Moisturizer then Make-up
Now go forth and enjoy the sunshine!
